(1941) Paramount Pictures, B&W, 94 Mins.
In this movie, Barbara Stanwyck plays a woman named Jean. Who, is part of a card shark gang. Made up of three people. She is the only women, and because of that she must romance the rich men they wish to con.
Charles Colburn, plays Colonel Harrington, (That name is an Alias) Jeans father, who is the real head of the group, being the best one at cards he is the one who plays the rich and gets the money. That being said, the third and last member of there gang is not a very shown person, he has a speaking part, but not a very substantial one. Henry Fonda appears as just another mark, and its business as usual. There are some interesting scenes, and a lot of Comedy, and some appearances of actors who, "you don't know there name but you've seen them in other things."
Henry Fonda plays a rich man who is interested in snakes. Who's nickname is Hopsy
.
Funny lines:
Stewart: Good morning, sir. Fruit, cereal, bacon and egg, egg and sausage, sausage and hot cakes, hot cakes and ham, ham and eggs, eggs and bacon, bacon and...
Muggsey: Give me a spoonful of milk, a raw pigeon's egg, and four houseflies. If you can't catch any, I'll settle for a cockroach!
Hopsy: Snakes are my life, in a way.
Jean :What a life!
In shorter words it turns out great, and is funny along the way.
Differently a 4 star movie.
