Funny Face

(1957) Paramount Pictures, Color, 103 Mins

In the colorful world of fashion, Jo Stockton(Audrey Hepburn) does not exist. Until Fred Astaire (a photographer for a famous well to do magazine, Quality)  sees her in the background of one of their real life settings. His idea of her being their "Quality woman" soon develops and goes into action.(The Quality Woman  will be one of their models picked for whatever reasons,of who they will take pictures of, and make an entire cloths line for.) She excepts knowing it will mean a trip to Paris where a professor, who shares her interests, that she wishes to meet, lives. This combined with her general unhappiness, of her current life, her friendship with Dick(Fred Astaire) they all pack up and go to Paris.

Quotes:

Maggie Prescott: She put herself in your place - all you have to do is put yourself in her place, and you're *bound* to bump into each other in somebodies place

Maggie Prescott: Duval, please! I can't hear myself think, and I'm trying to think in French!

Goof:

When Maggie leaves the Professor's room, she leaves her beret on a bust by the door. When Jo goes to leave, the bust and the hat are gone

Trivia:

Audrey Hepburn was offered the lead role in Gigi but turned it down to make this movie.

Audrey Hepburn  filmed this back-to-back with Love in the Afternoon.
