(1952) Columbia Pictures, B&W, 98 Mins.
In This movie stars Rita Hayworth, and another of my favorites Glenn Ford. Rita Hayworth plays a dancer and singer(like always, even though her voice has been dubbed) and Glenn Ford plays the series brother of her dead husband. Her husband was murdered, and found by the police to make a dramatic opening scene. The movie is based in(go figure) Trinidad, there is annoying police procedure, and a lot of romance, however a good amount of action and suspense to go along with it. (One of the greatest combination) Chris(Haywoth) looks to Steve (Glenn Ford) unfaithful to her husband.( his brother) So he doesn't trust her and investigates his brothers death on his own.(after coming from where he lives in the US), He disappears for days, and almost getting killed during that time. She of course didn't know him before, and before he came made an agreement with the police, if she will try to get evidence against who they think murdered her husband. Then they will let her leave Trinidad, (they are with holding her passport and are not letting her leave until her husbands murder is solved.) So The two of them, him not trusting her enough to tell her anything, or believing anything she says, and her working with the police but not being able to tell him anything, because of orders(He must be cleared, background checks etc.) So there they are stuck in Trinidad, unable to leave for different reasons.
Released on: July 29, 1952
Goof:
Dr. Huebling tells Walters and Fabian that the new missile can hit any target in the U.S. from a launch base in Trinidad, and shows them the wall map with arrows indicating strike distances. But the arrows on the map start in Jamaica, not Trinidad, which is over 1000 miles further to the southeast.
Quotes:
Max Fabian: At the risk of dislocating your personality, try to remain calm.
Dominique: It is the prerogative of a faithful and loyal servant to be impertinent.
