So, I've been posting little updates on my blogs today. It's been quite a while since I posted on here! I'm still around, but I'm super busy irl and don't really have the time to write reviews atm.

I don't want to say I'll start posting review again soon. Because it may be a while before I can come back to posting regularly, but hopefully it will be soon!

I hope your all well! :)

Spider-Man Homecoming

I try to not be biased when it comes to Spider-man. Tobey/Andrew/Tom I don't want to get into an argument about it.
That being said I really liked the new version. (Don't yell at me pls)

Anyway...
After seeing the same story line twice played by actors in the mid to late 20s. I was so ready for a teenage Peter Parker played by an actual teenager. I was so happy with the way they wrote his character and really kept it from being an entire movie of cliches.

We see Peter Parker whose best friend Ned finds out he's Spider-Man and Ned helps him with technical stuff. We finally see Peter have a friend. Unlike the other movies where he seems lonely and depressed most of the time. There's no real bully just an annoying kid named Flash. Michelle who is a book loving nerd who randomly ends up in places Ned and Peter are in.

In this one we also see a crush. A girl named Liz. Later in the movie he does the right thing even if it means losing her. Which I respect him so much for. If this was a typical teenager movie they would figure out a way for them to be together and it would be sappy and fake.

They also showed that Peter Parker wasn't some soldier who would fight and fight until he couldn't. They showed he was a kid who got powers out of the blue and is trying as hard as he can to do good. Even though it doesn't always work out. He has a good heart and wants to help people. He couldn't care less about getting a good picture of himself taken for the paper. Or what people think of Spider-Man. He wants to have friends, help people, and be an Avenger...and live through high school. ;)

All in all if you haven't seen it...go and see it. It's worth it! It was so different and good compared to the overused story lines of the other Spider-Man's! Because of all that and the movie itself it's my favorite Spider-Man yet!

P.S. I didn't do a full out plot because there's spoilers and you can get the general idea from trailers like I did. I would actually recommend not finding out a lot about it before seeing it. There's more chances for fun surprises and mind blowing plot twists!

AND DON'T FORGET TO STAY FOR THE AFTER CREDIT SCENES!! :)

Despicable Me 3

It was actually pretty good! It was nice to be able to relax at a movie. To not have to worry about your favorites characters dying or the world being taken over by baddies. Just to sit and watch a silly movie with silly characters, and the occasional hilarious joke! (I say occasional because most of them were potty jokes.)

The story is basically Gru and Lucy, now married, are fired from their secret agent job for not catching the newest villain Balthazar Bratt, on multiple occasions. They don't really know what there going to do next. The Minions go on strike kinda and end up leaving Gru in search of an actual villain.
Fate would have it the very next day a man approaches Gru telling him of a long lost twin who wants to meet Gru. (He and his twin were separated as infants when their parents divorced.)
So the Gru's pack up and go to meet Gru's twin, Dru.
Dru lives in Freedonia. A farming country who mainly raise pigs and make cheese.
His brother is goofy and welcoming to his new found family.
We find out he did have anterior motives in seeking Gru out. Apparently their father was also a notorious villain and Dru wants Gru to become a villain again and teach him how to be one too.
At first Gru refuses but after his brother shows him his many gadgets and cool cars Gru agrees to go on a test drive. No villainy....probably.
Lucy is suspicious but more concerned on connecting with the girls and being a mom to them.
As the brothers go off on their own to test the cool decked out vehicle. The girls and Lucy head to the market to see the cheese festival.

A little trouble happens when Lucy takes out a tavern full of people thinking the girls were in danger.
She also makes Margo participate in a cheese dance. After Margo said Lucy can tell the girls "No" once in a while.
Gru and Dru are tearing up the country side in the...rover? After some hi-jinks and cahoots they talk about stuff and Gru eventually agrees to help Dru to steal the biggest diamond in the world. (The same thing Bratt stole at the beginning of the movie.)
Dru is ecstatic and the brothers get closer and come in to dinner later obviously disguised as each other.
The girls and Lucy are not amused after the crazy afternoon, but the brothers are literally rolling on the floor laughing about the switch!

The next day Lucy and Margo find out the cheese dance Lucy made Margo participate in. Actually meant Margo was now engaged to a local boy.
Lucy sends the boy away and Margo is mad at Lucy. Then the boys mother comes to the house and is furious. When Lucy defends Margo and makes the woman leave Margo forgives Lucy. Realizing she does care and just doesn't really know how to show it.

We switch back to see Gru and Dru heading to Bratt's lair. They've planned it out and Gru knows exactly what to do. Unfortunately Dru isn't willing to be only the getaway driver and follows Gru. Several minutes of slap-stick hi-jinks ensue. Thanks to Dru complete lack of villain abilities.
They do get the diamond but Lucy saves them at the last moment in a helicopter. Lucy is angry with Gru for becoming a villain again, and he quickly tells her his ulterior motive for agreeing with Dru. He wanted to steal the diamond back to get them their old jobs back. Dru of course hears this and is devastated.

Gru, Lucy and the girls pack. Dru is depressed about Gru lying to him and tricking him into stealing the diamond. Gru feels guilty about lying to Dru and doesn't want to leave, and the girls all love it at their uncle Dru's. Lucy is the only one who seems excited about going home and getting their jobs back.

(Spoilers from here on!!)
We've seen Bratt use a mask and costume before and now we find out Lucy is tied up in a closet and Bratt has the girls!

(The minions who have been in prison and escaped finally catch up with Gru and company to help)
Bratt has made a kid Bratt robot that shoots giant bubble gum at the city taking over streets and knocking over buildings. He is going to Age of Ultron the city basically. Lucy separates from the brothers to save the girls and the brothers head off to stop Bratt.
Gru and Dru manage to get on the robot but Gru is thrown off and is unconscious.

Lucy is bounding her way to the girls...literally. She's bouncing on the huge bubble gum bubbles! She grabs them just in time and they somehow land safely on the ground.

I can't actually remember for sure, but I think the AVL sends planes in to help with the attack and they knock down the robot, but it gets back up. Dru sees the giant laser heading straight for Gru and he takes off to save him.
Dru climbs the robot and finds the power source and destroys it! Saving Gru. Gru woke up just before he was almost killed and saw Dru's heroic efforts to save him.
Bratt manages to drag himself out of the wrecked robot and tries to kill Gru once again. Gru challenges him to a dance fight. Something Bratt tried at an earlier point. They "fight" for a few minutes but when Bratt get tired of it and Gru he reaches for his 80s guitar weapon.
Only to find Gru was distracting him to get it. Gru has (childish) payback for his humiliation. (That can be seen in every trailer for the movie.) And the AVL capture Bratt at last.

Lucy and Gru have their jobs back. Lucy is bonding with the girls as their new mother. The minions are back, and Dru is living with the Gru family. Dru is also being a villain. With the minions help of course.
In the last scene we see Dru take Gru's flying ship thing with the minions on board to wreak some havok. When Lucy is about to make chase Gru smiles and says, "Honey, he's my brother...We'll give him a head start." ;)  It must be a family thing.

Overall I would recommend it. It's entertaining and has a pretty good plot. Some of the "nudity" I could have done without. Minion bottoms and the like.

If your looking for a light hearted with good-ish values go see it! Enjoy it! Don't care if it's animated! You're never to old to watch whatever animated movie you want! :D

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman has broken a bunch of records! It shows how good a movie whose main character and director are women can be if studios wouldn't get in the way!

The movie starts with Diana on the island of the amazons who are her family. She is the queens daughter, and her aunt is the general of the army.
Her mother tells her about how they are protected and must train to be ready to defend the world. There's a lot of myth and lore, but it basically boils down to Diana wants to fight and help. The amazons were taken advantage of by mankind before and don't worry about the mortals battles until it involves Ares. Who they protect the world against.

One day a plane flies into the barrier and Diana saves the pilot's life. He is relatively okay, but he was followed by the enemy. They attack the island and several amazons are killed. Including Diana's aunt. Steve fights beside Diana and helps them by shooting some of the German soldiers.

The amazons still don't trust him, and force him to tell them the truth about who he is and why he is there. Diana believes him and they begin to form a bond. She decides to help him leave the island and go with him back to his land and the war to help.

Diana is a bit naive about some things and doesn't understand human kind very well at times. There are some funny scenes with Steve's secretary that I appreciate.

He agrees to take her to the front and the two of them gather a small team and head out. There are five of them Steve, Diana, Charlie, the Chief and Sameer. There mission is to use the information Steve was being chased for to take down the mustard-esque gas manufacturing factory and the man in charge of it General Ludendorff. Once there with a lot of help from Wonder Woman they take back a village full of people. They stay with them as the group prepares to get into the fortress that Ludendorff is in.

They leave the village and before they can get to him he uses the prototype gas on the village and kills them all. Diana is heartbroken and unaffected by the gas walks through the gaseous streets seeing the dead people they had been eating and dancing with the night before.

She is even more resigned to kill the General who she thinks is Aries. Steve tries countless times to tell her that sometimes people just do bad things. But she is convinced it is Aries.

They set off for the secret factory and Diana being faster arrives well before the others and battles with the General. She eventually wins and thinks she has released the soldiers from Aries grip. The others arrive soon and Steve tells her they are still in danger and have to continue destroying the gas. Diana doesn't understand why the soldiers are still fighting loses her faith in humanity.

Steve helps her to not completely lose faith and leaves with the others to try and stop the attack and destroy the attack still not believing Aries is involved. Once they leave Diana comes face to face with Aries for real. They talk and we see Steve and the others sneak their way in.

I won't tell you the rest because it's 100% spoilers. Needless to say it is a good movie and I would recommend it!

The sheer amount of similarity to Captain America The First Avenger makes it awesome also!
There are many aspects that are similar! I'm not criticizing this movie. On the contrary I think it is incredibly original! Some of the similarities are actually not my favorites. For instance 1/2 of the main couple's name is Steve and he dies in a plane heroically saving many people.
The hero also is still around in modern time with a picture of their significant other from way back when. That makes me extremely sad!

I saw a bunch of trailers and heard a lot about it. The basics at least. If it weren't for the strong presence of Ares, and Zeus stories it would have been 9.5/10. (Also one of my favorite characters dies.) :(

There were shots that were amazing. The acting on all counts was superb. The locations and sets were all great!
