Paper Towns

Although there are people who are avid lovers of anything John Green, and claim absolute perfection Paper Towns was average. It wasn't a spectacular example of what film should be. Or a wonderful display of a book adapted to the big screen. Or a beautiful story of young love. It was okay, I'm not saying it wasn't. By all means if that's your type of movie go see it you'll probably enjoy it. Personally I only went because a couple of friends of mine invited me. I probably would have never seen it otherwise.

Anyway moving on. The whole story centers around Nat Wolff's character Quentin, and Margo who goes missing. So Quentin and his two best friends go on a road trip to follow the clues Margo left. But they have to go, get her, and be back in a week so they'll be back in time for prom. They run into obstacles and funny situations that bring them closer together as friends.

Over all the movie was very funny, a little gross at times. I'm not one for movies that make you reflect on your own life, and this one certainly did that. Surprisingly Margo is only in about half the movie, a lot at the beginning and then a couple of scenes at the end.

If it had a message of some kind I think it was a positive one, the way I understood it was like this. When you're at an age where you have your whole life ahead of you don't be caught up on all of the lasts your having. Last day of High School, last day eating the nasty food in the cafeteria. Focus on the firsts you're doing and going to be doing. The things that you are starting are far more important than the things that are ending.
In other words don't make the years you've already had be the best years of your life. Go out and make even better ones.

Also Nat and Alex Wolff wrote and sang a song in the movie called Look Outside.

SPOILER ALERT: Highlight to readNo one dies. Also there is a cameo by someone you may recognize.
