The first movie was amazing and I couldn't wait to see the second one! I loved the sequel almost as much as the first one.
I watched clips from the sequel since I didn't get it for a long time. So, I had a number of things spoiled for me. :( Which did kinda mess up the big reveal at the end, but it was still really good!
If you haven't seen either movie, and if you liked Inception or Oceans Eleven you will probably like these movies.
I'm not sure if Inception is a good reference movie, since they aren't really similar. I just make that connection because of the style in which they're both written
Plot:
The story is centered around four magicians who are known as the four horsemen. The horsemen are a team with different skill types who "rob the rich to give to the poor."
There direct "leader" is someone who, if you've seen the first movie you'll know who, but if you haven't I won't spoil it.
There newest task is to reveal a corrupt cell phone company. However once they're on stage everything starts going wrong.
Someone hijacks their mics and begin "exposing" the horsemen's schemes. Including that Jack is still alive! Gasp!
(Because he isn't on the cover of the DVD!)
Of course we (the viewers) obviously know he isn't dead already. The four horsemen make their getaway, but things take an unexpected turn when the horsemen find themselves in China. Completely confused, the horsemen are taken to Daniel Radcliffe's character (Walter). Who apparently was behind the whole hacking and kidnapping.
We find out that the main corruption in the cell phone company they were going to expose was co-created by him. And he wants some of his illegal hacking software form it back.
We also meet McKinney's (Woody Harrell) twin brother, who works for Walter, and plays an important role in the finale.
Our hero's make plans to do the job while figuring out a way to get out of China and far from Walter's reach.
The heist goes mostly as planned, but the subsequent plan to escape doesn't. The horsemen's leader has been looking for them since their disappearance and catches up with them right when everything starts to go wrong. He almost dies at the hand of Walter, but is saved by Atlas.
They are all together now and start to create a plan. They're currently free of Walter and threaten to expose him using the stolen information. They have to act out the plan to perfection if they want to succeed and escape prison or death.
I personally found the first movies plot twists to be more surprising, but this movie has phenomenal acting and I much prefer the newest member and replacement for Ilsa Fishers character.
