X-Men Apocalypse

If you haven't seen X-Men Apocalypse yet, I would recommend it. I did have some issues with all of the religious issues.

I loved seeing the new version of X-Men. I actually have a friend who knows Tye Sheridon who plays the new Cyclops. I hope they make another one with this cast I love the new actors especially Night-crawler, Jean Gray, and Quicksilver!

It all starts with a Egyptian flashback, mutants and the main antagonist's backstory.

It picks up about ten years after the events of the last movie that changed the world by exposing mutants existence.
Mystique is still saving mutants in places like East Berlin. Erik aka Magneto is actually settled down and has a family. The Professor and Hank have reopened the school and are teaching dozens of mutants.
Moira, in case you forgot about the spunky, ahead of her time CIA agent, is back and just like her old self. Extremely interested in mutants, (Even without certain memories) smart, and investigative.

Alex's (Havok) younger brother Scott, as in Scott Summers. Busts up a bathroom at school, displaying his powers for the first time. Alex takes Scott to see the Professor, who enrolls him almost immediately.
Soon after Mystique brings Night-crawler, who she has just saved, to the school. Now that the new team is assembled in the story line. Now everything gets interesting!

There are lots of littler spoilers in the next few paragraphs! You've been warned

Magneto aka. Erik is living as a factory worker in Poland. He has a wife and a young daughter. They are happy and live quietly. But one day a giant piece of machinery almost lands on a worker and Erik saves him with his powers. It was a reaction that he regrets immediately and is afraid he will be exposed and his family will be in danger. Even though he thinks no one saw, later that night his daughter disappears, and when he and his wife go to look for her they come upon a group of police who have their daughter. They threaten his family if he does not go with them, and of course he agrees. So they will be safe, but his little daughter does not want her father to leave and apparently is more like him than they knew. Suddenly birds begin to attack the police, and one of the younger ones accidentally lets lose and arrow that hits the girl and Erik's wife. Killing them both instantly. He in anger kills all the policemen. Then goes for further revenge to the factory, but is interrupted by apocalypse who wants him to help their "cause". So Magneto joins them.

With the rising threat from Apocalypse everyone is in a frenzy to figure out his next move. When Charles goes to Cerebro for answers on Erik. Apocalypse feels it and gets into Charles's head. So Alex has to destroy Cerebro to save Charles's life. But Apocalypse found out where he was and has one of his followers teleport them there to take Charles. They successfully kidnap him. In trying to save him Alex accidentally hits the stealth plane core with his powers and causes an explosion.

Thankfully Quicksilver is coming to talk to the professor, and sees the explosion from a distance. He acts immediately, saving people closest to the flames and moving out. He even heroically saves a dog, and some goldfish. Scott, Jean, Nightcrawler and Jubliee had gone to a local mall and are just coming back when everything happens.

Everyone is fine, but as Scott looks around he can't find his brother. Hank says he was the closet person to the blast and Quicksilver says he thought he got everyone out. Jeans comforts Scott as he's standing by the rubble in tears.

Almost immediately the young version of Stryker, as in the guy from Days of Future Past, arrives and sedates all the mutants and kidnaps Hank, Mystique, Moira and Quicksilver. The only present adults, leaving the kids knocked out on the ground. Nightcrawler, Scott, and Jean escaped the blast however thanks to Nightcrawlers quick reflexes and Jean's powers.

So, before we get into extreme spoiler territory, I'll sum up.

The professor has been kidnapped to be used by Apocalypse. Mystique, Hank, Moira, and Nighcrawler have all been kidnapped by Major Stryker. Erik and Storm are on Apocalypses side. Jean, Nightcrawler, and Scott may be their only hope.

I would definitely recommend this movie for the story line and arcs. The acting is superb. (we even get a Hugh Jackman cameo.)

If you're offended by religious references, and underlying bashing of the same. This may be a movie you want to skip. It's religious criticism is much more prominent than in Age of Ultron which was also slightly problematic.
