Twentieth Century Fox, (1943) Color, 106 Min's
Tyrone Power, Anne Baxter, Dana Andrews and James Gleason. Ty plays Lt.Ward Stewart, just transferred from his speedy PT boat, to a submarine. Slightly downcast about this "disadvantaged vessel" he has been assigned to, he meets his new captain, Lt. Commander Dewey Conner's. (Dana Andrews) Next he meets Jean Hewlett (Anne Baxter), and is immediately intrigued by her.(and who wouldn't be when a woman climbs into a berth you, unbeknownst to her, already occupy!) What he doesn't know is she is the girl of his new Captain, and who gets the girl? You may be surprised. This triangle is temporarily interrupted by a battle between the Submarine crew and some Germans. Who could ask for a better cast, or a better story line.
Trivia:
When the raiding party lands,some german guards are patrolling with bayonets on there guns, (which they are not supposed to have out). The next time you see one of the guards moments later the bayonet has disappeared.
